About Us

Our Promise...to Provide Non-Toxic, Fresh Skin Care Products

Here's what I think...if you've got hundreds of options on where you go for skin care for you and your family, the more you know about me and mine the better perhaps you will feel about giving us a chance to exceed your expectations and earn your trust.

If you're going to choose to do business with someone you've never met face to face it feels so much better if you know something about them, perhaps have a picture to complete the the one in your head. To that end, I'm going to tell you a bit of how we got started, where we want to go and how we're going to get there. We hope you will join us in the grand adventure of skin care education and experiencing amazing products.

(Once I figure out how to upload pics to this sections and I get the glare off of Steves' bald head pic, I'll share our smiling mugs and pics of our shop, lab and such)

My name is Alice, I'm 56 this year and wear it well if I do say so myself. I'm an old Southern California beach bum. I spent the entire first half of my life swimming in the ocean and soaking up as many rays as possible. Back then, the only sun protection was the white nose cote all the surfers wore. I grew up on the beaches without a care in the world as to any problems that my love of basking in the sun might bring down the road. I have always loved sunbathing and still do. I've just learned how to do it without damage.

During that time I became the fortunate mom of two beautiful daughters, Summer and Misty and started my early work in the new and exciting world of high tech telecommunications that was unfolding in the '70's and 80's. I learned that the world can be overwhelming competitive so you have to set yourself apart, be empathatic to the needs of others and always, ALWAYS go the extra mile.

I spent two decades in that area of sales and marketing and it took me to many places in the US. I've lived in San Francisco, Las Vegas, Seattle, Boston, Montana and now finally settled in the beautiful beach town of Gold Beach Oregon. Fotrunately both of our grown daughters, our son in law and 6 grandchildren live here as well.

When it dawned on me how much I loved problem solving and that I cared about people and their lives, their health, I transferred those previously learned skills to managing non-profit organizations such as The American Heart Association of Montana and then Special Olympics Oregon.

I began making soap back then as a hobby. One day my daughter Misty said "Too bad we can't make our own lotion". At this time I was also becoming a grandmother and well as you might see, one thing led to another and a decade later here we are, a family run business making natural and organic skin care products.

Today, I am still a health care advocate and coordinator of womens breast health for our local hospital, educating women about mammography and providing patient advocate services when needed. Cancer took both of my parents, so I've spent a good portion of my life it seems researching healthy lifestyles and particularly TOXIC INGREDIENTS and how they affect our bodies both inside and out.

To that end, Moose Creek Bath and Body has grown to have several natural skin care lines. Our web business has blossomed since it's inception in 2003 followed by our WHOLESALE opportunities where we believe that collaboration, education and passion equal success for all. In the spring of 2008 we opened MOOSE CREEK BATH AND BODY BOUTIQUE AND OBSERVATIONAL FORMULARY LABORATORY in the historic Gold Rush Building on Hwy. 101 in our beautiful little town of Gold Beach, Oregon.

My wonderful husband Steve is truly a rock and provides business advice and unwavering support through our many growth spurts. Being a total baldy also makes him a great test ground for new products.

Our daughter Misty is a bit of a mad scientist in training and helps formulate our many products. Our daughter Summer is instrumental in our retail and web operations. We've got six grandchildren here in Gold Beach, Jessica 17, Melissa 16, Dennis 13, Curtis 5, Ruby 3 and our new sweet addition little Diesel just 3 months old.

I'd also like to introduce you to Haley Kessel our new Retail Shop Manager. She's really amazing at formulating and truely cares about people.

Truth be known after the soap got me hooked and the Sun Lovers Lotion was created to battle my own sun damaged skin from having grown up on the southern California beaches of Huntington, Newport and Laguna, my grandchildren have become my biggest motivators. Not only will you see products with their names on them, but the older grandkids help formulate their special blends. All of Grandma Ali's products were created for one or another of my sweet wee ones and you'll see their pictures all over the web site.

In heart, soul, purpose and outcome we are truely the essence of a family business. Thank you for visiting us. We know that you have many options in skin care for yourself and your family. We hope that you will give us the opportunity to earn your business and trust.

Our long term goal is to keep researching, sharing that knowledge via our numerous avenues of education and to continue to work on skin care blends that are good for all of us.

If you ever have a question, would like to discuss a personalized blend or one of our existing products, please do not hesitate to contact us.
